At the Shed House we understand Brisbane's Council rules and regulations, working closely with trusted local suppliers and trades to bring you a streamlined, stress free building process.
An initial design consultation is completed where we will visit your property to view the site and discuss your plans and ideas. We can provide indicative pricing at this stage.
During the design stage we will link you up with our designer who will work closely with you to achieve a design which will suit the landscape and likewise your needs.
Compliance is an important step in the process. During this stage we work closely with you and a building certifier to gain the required approvals.
Once all the approvals have been completed along with your final plans we coordinate the fabrication of your new steel frame, cladding and windows.

The Shed House Brisbane is passionate about empowering everyday people to have a go at being an Owner Builder. We have a systemised process which will help you through the approval process. 02. Built by The Shed House
The Shed House Brisbane offers a flexible approach to the building process. If you choose to become an Owner Builder we can construct your home to lock up allowing you to finish off the internal works. Or if you are to busy we can take care of the entire project for you.
Basic Council Guidelines
- If under 80m² and designed to a member of the same household, you may not need approval. However, if it is over 80m² and more than 20 meters from the main dwelling you will be required to obtain relevant approvals.
- Regarding site cover, for all relevant buildings there is a maximum of 50% coverage of lots 400m² or more, 60% for lots 300m² or more and less than 400m², 70% for lots 200m² or more and less than 300m² and 80% for lots less than 200m².
- There is a maximum height of 9.5 meters and two storeys for character residential, low density, low-medium density residential, rural, rural residential, emerging community and environmental management.
- A parking space must be provided for both the main dewlling and the secondary dwelling.
