We worked with The Shed House to design and build a 60m² detached dwelling (granny flat), and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. As an owner-builder, I appreciated how flexible and supportive the team was. While they offer their own standard designs, we chose to collaborate with their in-house architects to create a custom plan that suited our vision. The architects were excellent—they truly understood what we were aiming for and provided thoughtful suggestions to improve functionality without compromising the overall design. The 3D rendering software they used allowed us to walk through the entire design before construction even started, which was incredibly helpful and gave us confidence in the final outcome. From the very first point of contact through to working with their builders on-site, the entire team was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely easy to work with. Although I chose to take the owner-builder route and build the dwelling myself from a supplied kit, The Shed House offers a full-service option if you prefer a turnkey solution. Even so, some of their team assisted me with parts of the build—particularly the subframe—and they were skilled, reliable, and great to deal with. I couldn’t recommend The Shed House highly enough.
